I’m Tonka and I’m so happy I made it to rescue!!! I have spent most of my life on a 15 foot chain. I have a 10” scar across my shoulders that was most likely from the chain I was attached too.
I came into rescue with so much dirt in my coat that I needed a bath. The water ran through my coat was black for 30 minutes before changing to clear. I still had dirt stained on my legs. I was so thirty, I drank the dirty water from my bath. I was fed and drank about a gallon of water more after the bath.
I am adjusting to the inside life and so far my foster mom says I’m amazing! Im glued to be her sided and lay next to her on the couch. I obsessed with head massages and scratches! I do counter surf from time to time and starting to understand I’m not suppose to do that. Oops! I’m getting use to all my canine and feline foster siblings but do enjoy my own space while adjusting to this new environment.
I’m learning to kennel up with treats and sleep the entire night without making a peep. I figured out that I love marrow bones! So tasty!
My story is heartbreaking but I’m so happy to have a foster that opened their home to accept me into rescue. I’m loyal and loving this good life now! I can’t wait to find my forever loving home and get all the head massages and treats in the world!
