Tibbs is in need of dental care and deep ear cleaning which will require anesthesia.
Bad dental hygiene is more than just stinky breath. Without proper dental care, dogs develop plaque which builds up into tartar and in turn leads to periodontal disease (gum disease). In this inflammatory infection, bacteria attacks the gums, ligaments and bone tissue that support the teeth. This can be painful, lead to tooth loss, and inhibit the dog’s ability to eat, and creates pain and stress. Left untreated, bacteria from the infection can eventually enter the dog’s bloodstream and cause life-threatening complications in his vital organs. The bacteria secretes gross toxins that can enter the bloodstream and spread to the heart, kidneys and liver.
Tibbs's ears are very infected. When we attempt to thoroughly clean them, he quits breathing due to the pain. When he is sedated for his dental, and under anesthesia with a machine helping him breathe, we will also flush his ears and treat them.
Please HELP us give Tibbs the comfort and care he deserves!
