Let me introduce myself, I am Houston. I am a very engaging and lovable girl. I am not scared of loud noises and I get along with everybody! Early in my arrival to Journey Home I ended up getting very sick from an internal abscess. I had to live at the vet clinic for about 1 week and receive vet care daily for 1 month. I have now overcome that and am ready to find my forever home! I like to play and like to train. I also am good at going and lying down with a toy or chew. Since I had to live at the vet for a week, I do not like to be kenneled or left alone. I am vocal about being kenneled, so would not do well in an apartment or shared wall living. We are working on this though, even though I protest. I might have some cattle dog in me as I will sometimes try to boss human(s) around by herding and see what I can get away with. Because of my herding tendencies currently I am best in a home without small kids.
I am in a foster home with other dogs and do great with them. I would love a play buddy. I also like to be close to my people. I would be a great companion!
UPDATE: I now enjoy my kennel! I go in my kennel when I am ready for bed or just want to relax. I have realized it's my own space. I am in a foster with other dogs and I even get to go to doggie daycare - I love it. I have made lots of friends.
