Hi, I’m Finley! I am outgoing, playful, friendly, and unaware of my size. First and foremost, I love to fetch! When it comes to my toys, I’ve been playing with them until they are in pieces because that’s just how much I love them, especially the ones that make noises. I know to only go to the bathroom when I’m outside. I know how to sit, lay down, and I am working on improving my recall command. I am a fast learner and will do almost anything for a treat or my favorite toys. I love to play tug-a-war with the other dog I am living with currently. I don’t think it is possible to keep us from playing all day! I might bark when you leave, it’s only because I miss you. I can’t wait to find my forever home!
Update on Finley:
I am loving my new canine friends AND the young and older kids at my foster home. I prefer to follow the grown-ups around the house and like to be in the same room with them whenever possible. I do well in my kennel all night long and during the day when they go to work, but I also love the weekends when I can run and play all day and take nice naps stretched out on the nice hard floor! I had already learned at my other home that I am much too big to be on the furniture, I only tried to sneak up once but I got off right away when my foster mom asked me too. I will come sit by your side anytime you call my name! I LOVE treats and chewies! And toys! And ESPECIALLY balls! My favorite ball is the one that is nice and wet and muddy and FULL of slobber. It's just my style I guess. I enjoy lying in a cool spot outside when it's nice out and my humans are outside with me and I chase with the other dogs around the yard too. I had one accident in the house when my humans didn't let me out to go pee for a long time, but I'm blaming them. I don't like it very much when my humans first leave...or if they put me in my kennel and I can hear them right outside. That is just not fair...so I tend to bark to let them know how much I don't like it...but after a few minutes I calm down just fine and take a nice nap. I am quick to run to the front door whenever it opens and have gotten out once and tried to run, luckily my foster family lives in a smaller circle neighborhood so they caught me right away, but I might run again, so be careful by the door. We have been working on sitting and staying inside the door until I am invited out, but I will need some more training to remember that, especially when I am really excited. I also could be a track star...I have quite the vertical when I jump, so gates don't work very well to keep me out of areas, I'll jump over anything to follow my humans around the house. I will do best in a home that can give me attention, play with me, and give me lots of exercise too. Preferably in a fenced yard with 6 ft high fences....just in case. :) I am a sweet and gentle dog that is ready for my new best friend!
